Early searching for housing

I know this is early, but I want to find a nice, good place to live.  Somewhere semi-close to UW that is nice and has some type of yard thing.

I'm looking for a place close to UW to move to in July/August.  I've been accepted into the Epidemiology graduate program and I'm coming to Seattle during the summer sometime.

I have a beautiful small (15lbs) dog who's well behaved, house trained, and acts like a child who's name is Mona.  Wherever I go, she goes.  This being said I need a place that is pet friendly.  Now my ideal place would be fairly close to UW's campus (within walking/bike distance).  However, I would like some kind of yard, nearby park, or field in which I can take Mona out and let her play.  I will pay more for yard space.  I would also like someplace that is somewhat nice (aka no shady neighbordhoods) and that has a place I can park (since I read that parking is hard up there.)  I'm looking for a studio, 1, or 2 bedrooms.  If a place is further from campus but is nice and has a yard, I would like that.  Or if you happen to know someone who would like a roommate for 3-6 months how I search around in Seattle, that would also be something to consider.

If you have a place, need to get out of your place, or know of a place that would be a great match, please let me know.  I would be more than appreciative and grateful for your help!!!
