i'm capable, I swear, just give me a chance!

How does one get a job when one has never had one? Does anyone have some words of wisdom as to how a perfectly capable and competent sophomore at UW could get a job on campus or in the U-district without any real, previous work experience? I've done some babysitting and small jobs and summer camps but I don't even know how to put any of those people down as previous jobs or references. I don't have any contact information. I don't know what I'd put on an application or a resumé but I swear I know I could do any kind of entry level position out there! I need some money for these exorbitant out-of-state tuition fees. So how do I get started?

Thanks. And I swear I'm not dumb. I've tried applying for jobs at another point in my life and have been immediately turned down because of my lack of experience. But I can't get experience without getting my first job! Help! Please!
