so, being an out-of-stater i'm really confused about the whole uw/wsu rivalry... why do we hate them so goddamn much, they seem like a different variety/type of university from uw. it seems like a point of contention more often than it should be...

I received this e-mail twice today, but i don't have a Key Bank account. Has anyone heard anything about this? It reminds me of a WaMu scam going around a little while ago.

Subject:textbook prices
Time:9:58 am.
In the no shit, Sherlock, department:  article from the Daily about textbook price inflation.

If people know  that textbook prices are inflated, new editions come out with minimal changes, then why do profs still use textbooks?  The things I'm filing away for future reference once this doctorate's done...

Subject:Guess what, it's SPAM!
Time:12:42 pm.
Mood: annoyed.
Alright...just a tip...

If you get an email for any bank, especially asking you for any personal info... it is SPAM. (My bank calls me when something is up or sends a letter. I don't know about you, but I don't trust email. If you think it is legit call the bank and ask)

If you get an email asking you to deposit money in an account...it is SPAM

If you get an email for an African King offering to make you millions (Nigerian Email Confrence included) or something similar...it is spam

If you get an email for something that obiously looks like a pyramid scheme, it probably is and is...*gasp* SPAM

If you really just can't give up the hope that a random person wants to give you $20,000 for working at home part-time for a week only, check out this site and look it up: http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/

Anyway, sorry for my sarcastic tone here, usually off-topic posts don't bug me too much, but I sure have been seeing a lot of "this looks like SPAM, what do you guys think?" posts. Now you can look it up using the link above and not have to worry. Have a nice day UW. :)
