I'm not originally from Seattle (from Portland, I'm here for school), so I don't really know the surrounding area all that well. I'm pretty busy during spring break, but my mom still wants to take a three day mini-road trip with me, somewhere in Washington/Canada. Any suggestions of a good destination that's no more than four or five hours away? It would be good if it was somewhat culturally interesting, as my mom is big on museums (specifically, Native American art and culture).
Not entirely UW related... sorry. If you're offended, um... you can post something random and off topic in MY livejournal.
This is kind of off topic, so I apologize, but I figure some of you could use this, especially those running out of space on their UW servers...
I have 50 gmail invitations since I've used it since near day 1. If you want one, leave a comment WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS (i don't care if its your uw one or not.) If you comment more than once or don't leave an email address, I'm not going to be able to give you one, unless like no one comments than i'll give you all of them. It might take me awhile (read: a few days) so be patient, but if you're one of the first 40 you'll get one. I don't even know if people still want one but I'm throwing this out there.
Are there any neurobiology majors at the UW that read this journal? I'd like to know how the program at the UW is like from a student's perspective and how it compares to other experiences in the past that/those student(s) has/have had concerning neurobiology/neuroscience. Sure, I could ask the professors in the department these same questions, but I would only get their complimentary spiel for me to get into their classes and give them my money. I want somewhat unbiased answers to these questions and please don't just tell me, "It is cool!" or "I like it." That doesn't help me.
Now that Time Schedule is up, does anyone know when the Schedule Finder and the General Education Requirement Search will be up?
yet another annoying class question!!
english 111 vs. english 131
which is better? easier? more work? better prof? i just need to get some english credit so i figured i would do it next qtr. any help is much appreciated! thank you!
I posted this a couple weeks back, but I didn't get any responses. Does anyone know ANYTHING about the Porter/Gershwin concert? I think it starts next week or late this week, but they took the poster down in McMahon so now I have no idea where/when/how much it is. If you know anything about this or anything about where to find out about this, please let me know. Thanks!
Hi. I am going to be in Seattle March 12th-19th during my spring break. One of the biggest reasons for this trip is to check out the university. I'm looking to hopefully attend UW for a graduate degree in museum studies (focusing on art). Basically, I've made UW my number one choice without having any real reason for doing so. I've never been to seattle and have therefore built it up as the most awesome place on earth in my head; it'd be fantastic if the city and school lived up to my expectations. So, I'd like to know what things I absolutely must not miss out on during my visit to campus. Oh, and I was wondering if UW's spring break is during this time as well. Will it be difficult for me to schedule a tour and have my questions answered by someone in this specific department?
Also, if you'd be so kind, some recommendations on what to see, do, and eat while I'm in Seattle would be rad. I'm a vegan and into art, music, and fun stuff in general. So, activities that cater to those things would be excellent. I'd be especially appreciative in response to recommendations of the absolute BEST vegan restaurants in town (I'm from colorado and we have, like, 2 vegan restaurants in the entire state, so I'm definitely looking forward to choosing from such a wide variety of yummy vegan food.).
Thanks x a jillion in advance, and I apologize if any of these questions have been asked in the past.
If your first name is Trevor and your Student Number begins with 04 and you've lost your Husky Card, come 'n get it.
I know it's a long shot, but email me (alacenski at gmail.com) if it's yours and I'll get it back to you.
Otherwise I am going to take it to Card Services (229 Schmitz Hall) tomorrow morning around 9.
Edit: Congratulations, self! You found the "Post To:" dropdown box! *patpat*
Edit the Second: In some kind of fruitless hope to preserve confidentiality, I am going to bet that there is only one freshman fitting that description. Sigh. How does one go about these things?
