LiveJournal Survey

my friend chris, who attends the University of Washington in Seattle, is doing a survey of blogs for a class he's doing. this survey is anonymous, and it would pleasure him if you'd take 2 minutes to complete it (=

his group has chosen LiveJournal for their project, while everyone else is using Blogger (blahh-ger!)

if you feel so moved, feel free to post the link in your LJ:

PS, here is a fun picture of Chris from New Years 2005

Dry Cleaners

So, I rarely get anything dry cleaned, but I have three coats that need it. So what's the most affordable dry cleaner in the U-District that also does a decent job? (I don't really know how you fuck up dry cleaning, but I'm sure it's possible...) And about how much should I expect to pay for a coat?

Thanks.

Thefacebook at UW

Hey, UW!

I'm looking for students who are avid users of Thefacebook.com to give comments on why they like the site. I'm writing an article on this due by... oh... 5 p.m. tonight.

Now, I've gotten comments from people who think it's lame: what I am missing are statements from the site's UW proponents.

I know you are out there: there are over 12000 UW students are currently signed up on the website.

So, feel free to email santom2@u.washington.edu if you have any comments and want to be quoted saying what it is you like about thefacebook. Please include your name, year, and course of study. If you would like comments to be off the record you must indicate that in the email.

I suppose you can comment on here, too, but I figured people would probably be more comfortable providing quotes by email or phone.

Fun stories are welcome, particularly regarding anyone you've met THROUGH thefacebook. Do people really make new acquaintances (and possibly more) through online resources like thefacebook?

You also can call (360) 433-5202 and ask for Ananda sometime before 5 p.m. if your interest is particularly piqued.

Thank you in advance.

Foreign Language Placement Test

I'm gonna be a prescience major so I'll be required to take 3 quarters of a foreign language.

With the exception of a few key words and phrases, I've forgotten almost all of my Spanish. I figured I would start anew with some language I've never studied, like Latin.

But I don't want to sell myself too short Foreign language is my worst subject, and when I dream, I dream of being exempt from it.

How hard was the placement test for Spanish? Do I have any chance at all or should I start again with a new language?

I'm thinking, if its multiple choice and mostly the basics of the language it might be worth a try.

thanks

$390 Room in Greenlake

I am moving back to Alaska and need a person to take my room by March first or maybe sooner. It's the largest bedroom in the house. If you like you can keep my queen size bed, dresser, desk, and comfy chair. The place has a fire place, two fridges, two bathrooms. There are 2 girls and 3 guys currently living here. All, are 20 or 21 years of age either going to school or working. The house is about a 4-5 min. walk to the lake. Alberstons, QFC, and Safeway are all close by. Easy access to UW or Downtown via bus. You don't have to worry about the last month's rent, August, or the deposit because I already took care of that. So the room is for $390.
