Maybe I should rephrase my last post on here a bit:

Looking for friends (and maybe more -ie: sex on weekends) at the UW.

My physical description:
Blonde, 5'8", grey eyes, skinny.

Read my LJ user info. to learn more about me:

It doesn't matter if you don't share all of my interests; just be intelligent and appreciate all of the arts and sciences.

What am I looking for? A boyfriend for the weekends. I'm too busy during the week to have a really intense relationship due to school and all, but am free during the weekends. It could turn into something more serious, but for right now that's what I'm looking for.

I hope that clarifies things.

Phi Eta Sigma

Any words about Phi Eta Sigma? I just got an e-mail to join and I am not sure if I want to. Also, besides looking good on a resume, what are the point of Honor Societies in general (and how helpful are they really on a resume or grad/law school app)? Thanks.

Maybe someone should start a UW_dates community....

About me: I’m female, short, cynical, socialist, introverted, mildly sarcastic, moderately artistic, unexpectedly kind and occasionally even funny. I’m into history, writing, genre fiction, nerdy games, knitting, good food and free museums. Moreover, I’m looking for a casual relationship with an intelligent guy-- and ending this trend of UW personals before it imitates the flood of “Is UW a good school?” posts.

Don’t get me wrong, they don’t bother me. Nor do I think it conflicts with the community’s rules in any way-- I mean, we can sell our stuff, look for jobs, and bitch about the inequities of academic life and the bastards who broke into our car/room/whatever, so looking for someone to talk to, spoon with, or fuck senseless seems like fair game.

I can, however, easily see these posts catch on. Soon they'll start breeding. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they maturate and swarm across livejournal to bludgeon my poor friends list with the fury of a thousand “when do I hear if I got in?” posts. Especially around February, when the Mass Commercial Sweetheartless Guilt And Chocolate Flower Day arrives.

And that scares me.

Europa at Club Contour Tonight!

I'm looking for someone to go to Club Contour with me either tonight or next Saturday at 9pm. Ladies are free before 10:30pm and "Europa" is Russian techno spun by two local Russian DJs.

Here's the address:
807 First Ave.
Seattle, WA 98104

I'd also like to mention that this club is all ages in the afternoon on Saturdays and chess club is going on while DJ Forrest Gump spins.

Hey, apparently people in this community hate posts like this, so I apologize. But, I'm really curious! I'm a high school senior in Bellevue and I recently got into the UW honors program. I was just wondering if any of you people out there entered UW as freshmen in the honors program, and if you could tell me what it was like, or just anything about your experience (the other students, the classes, the honors dorm?) Did anyone turn down a good private school for UW honors? Anyone have thoughts on that? Thanks for reading this (or not.)

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you know of a cool band coming to UW - the Idan Raichel Project. They're an Ethipian-Israeli pop fusion group... not really techno, nearly pop, with interesting beats. They'll be performing at UW's Hillel at 4745 17th Ave. NE on Sunday, February 13th, at 5:00 PM, with doors opening at 4:00 PM. Tickets for students are $7, and $25 for the general community, but the $7 tickets are going fast. You can stop by Hillel to buy tickets, or leave me a comment. If you want to hear a sample of their music, I can lend you my CD. Have a nice day, all!

Help getting premajor extension

Okay, I have 105 credits, but I'm trying to apply for the DXARTS major. I still have to complete a couple of requirements (CSE 143, plus either Art History 203 or Music 120). I just got an email saying that unless I either declared a major or got a premajor extension, I would be unable to register for classes next quarter. Can anyone tell me who I should talk to for getting an extension?

Michael Ian Black @ Meany Hall.

I just ordered my tickets for Michael Ian Black (and almost peed my pants because I had no idea he was coming). On the UW calendar and on the Meany Hall website it says 8:00 pm as the time, but on the tickets website it says 7:00 pm. I'm assuming the theater has the correct time, but does anyone know?

ATTN: Cereal Lovers!

The U Village Safeway has a row of boxes of Cap'n Crunch (both regular AND crunch berries!) on sale for 99 cents a box. I only got 2, so that leaves a ton for y'all to pick up.

Plus, there're tons of random items on sale for killer prices. Yay for grocery store remodeling!
