so! dilema:
tomorrow i may be swapping Chicano Studies 256 (Chicana Issues taught by Salas) for English 283 (intro to verse writing taught by Shoemaker). As an english major, the poetry class seems like the best choice but:
Chicana Issues sounds really interesting, and I come from a Latin American family
Poetry only has 6 students enrolled. tomorrow as a non(pre-) English major i can enroll, but what are the chances of a class being cancelled (and thus me forfeiting CHSTU 256 for nothing) for lack of enrollment? has this ever happened to any of you?
general opinions would be appreciated. This is only my second quarter at the U so I am still figuring stuff out.

Hi all, I normally wouldn't ask this but since HSTAA 302 (American Civilization: The First Century of Independence) would make my credit load to be 19 credits, I'd like to know anything about the professor (Robert McKenzie), the papers we'd be writing, his personality, etc. I'm kinda hesitant to keep this class since I have two other science classes I'd be taking next quarter but I like a good challenge.

So I'm signed up for SPAN103, 8090 (2:30 - 3:30). I'm wondering if anyone'll trade me for SPAN103, 8092(12:30 - 1:30) or 8094(1:30 - 2:30:: this would be super great. I'd love you for a long time!) or 8091(12:30 - 1:30).

I'm writing something on how people celebrate the holidays in Seattle, so I was curious if anyone braved the traffic and the throngs of people to go downtown for the Westlake/Bon Macy's tree lighting ceremony.....

Or went the Space Needle's one, possibly?

I'm trying to get my mind around this 'holiday spirit' thing. :)

I'm curious what community traditions Seattle-ites value most during this time of year.

Math 120 textbook...?

Hey guys, if any of you are taking Math 120 next qtr and need the textbook, I have one that I would be willing to sell! You can only get them from the copy and print store... and I'm pretty sure the bookstore won't buy them back because of that, so I am stuck with a textbk I wouldn't need anymore... So instead of burning it, does anyone want it? I barely wrote in it at all... and it costs $25 at the copy and print store... just let me know! thanks! :)

Attention former and current skiers!

- Have you recently switched to snowboarding and don't want your old skis any more?
- Do you have an old pair of skis found at a garage sale or a dead relatives house laying around that are unsafe for use on the slopes that you want out of your life and garage?
- Did you try skiing to impress a SO but have since broken up with them or given up on the sport and now have a pair of skis that you don't ever plan on using again?

Basically, do you have any skis that you would be willing to give to me or sell for a very modest price?

I don't care if they are retro old school. I don't care if you have trashed the bottoms trying to ski down your cement driveway one drunken night. I don't care if they are rusty with missuse. The only thing I won't take are neon pink skis.

My sister and I are making our ski-fanatic dad a chair (or two if we get enough skis together) made of old skis and we are both poor so we are trying to do it as cheaply as possible instead of paying over $250 for a premade one.

I don't have a car, but I am willing to meet you anywhere I can get to by bus.
