Decorating suggestions welcome

I'm moving into my apartment in the U-district in mid-Sept., and at this point am still lacking bedroom stuff(bed, desk, shelves, etc., with the bed being the one really crucial item). Does anyone know of a place where I could find cheap, sturdy (if not good) furniture? I'm currently out of state, so a place that has a website would be really helpful, but I will have one (singular) day to actually go out and buy things once I get there, so if I actually have to go to the place, I won't cry... Thanks.

Mercer Hall

Hey, I'm a 2008 kid and moving into the dorms this coming fall. They put me in Mercer Hall which I think wasn't even in my top 4 choices, go figure.

Well I've heard some things about "the dungeon" but nothing really great since a bad rating for a dorm could be given to any one of the halls. So I was wondering what the condition is like in mercer?

- Freshman only?
- 24 hour quiet?
- Daily Life?
- People/Fun?
- Other stuff?

I heard they renovated it this summer, but it's just the lights and furniture so nothing really "revolutionary."

Also, how easy would it be to move out if the hall did turn out to the "the suck."

(no subject)

So, a guy friend of mine told me, when I asked about moving in, that it would be a good idea to be there @ like 6:00, just to wait around and be able to check in early. Would this really be a good idea? Because I (like everyone else) would really like to get in and get it done. So I can go to a concert later that day.

Is this just insanity? Or is he smart. Did anyone else do this? Etc. Etc. Etc.

[Party for a Cause]

Hello fellow Udubbers,

From September 16-19, I'm climbing for the Ovarian Cancer Climb for Life.

Sooo, on Sunday September 12, I'm holding a benefit party at the Irish Emigrant.

The Emigrant has generously let me take over their upstairs and invite friends, unmet friends, friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends over for a big party. They'll give me 10% of the money spent on food and drink on that day in the upstairs area.

Would you please come?

And bring everyone you know, and their mommas too?

Where: The Irish Emigrant. "When it comes to song, food, dance and drink, the Emigrant happens to be Seattle's most authentic Irish pub". It's on 52nd and Ave.
When: Sunday September 12, *edit* 6-10pm (their happy hour is 4-7)
What: Eat, drink, play pool, meet new friends, catch up with old friends, party for a cause.

Many grateful thanks.

See ya here!
