Day of Silence today

from dayofsilence.org :
The Day of Silence, a project of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) in collaboration with the United States Student Association (USSA), is a student-led day of action where those who support making anti-LGBT bias unacceptable in schools take a day-long vow of silence to recognize and protest the discrimination and harassment -- in effect, the silencing -- experienced by LGBT students and their allies.

I was kind of surprised not to've seen anything in here about this yet, as the ASUW GBLTC is participating in the Day of Silence today on campus, but there was an article in yesterday's Times about it.
In any event, thanks to everyone on campus (like the livejournaler featured in that article) trying to make a difference.  Keep up the good work!

Jason Webley All-Ages Show, April 30

Jason Webley Concert Poster
April 30 is coming up, which means Jason Webley’s “Only Just Beginning” CD Release concert. You don’t want to miss this. Here are details:

April 30 - Town Hall Seattle
1119 Eighth Ave (at Seneca St)
8 pm - $9 - All Ages

Come celebrate the release of Jason’s 4th album.

For this concert, Jason will be joined on-stage by all of the incredible Seattle musicians who recorded with him on the new release: Michael McQuilken, Jherek Bischoff, Seth Warren, Liz Sprout Guy, Taryn Webber, Brant Campbell, Fred Hawkinson and Gary Luke.

This will be Jason’s first concert of 2004. Perhaps something special will happen.

Advance tickets are available now on-line here and at Sonic Boom record stores.
Directions to Town Hall are here.

If you'd be willing to hand out flyers for this concert or put up a poster in your dorm, leave a comment and I'll get you some materials. Jason's worried about attendance at this show, and I'd like to help out however I can. So, spread the word, at least!

If you've never seen a Jason Webley show, you're missing out.
