Transfer Credits

I took two literature courses at SCC (both W). I thought I could count them toward my W requirement, as well as one toward my VLPA requirement. Now my adviser for my program called to tell me I am short one VLPA course because these literature courses which transfered as 2XX are not counting toward my VLPA. She didn't know what to do about it. I can't fit another VLPA into my schedule since the program I am in has a very set course to follow for two years (summers included).

Is there anyway to petition someone to count these courses as VLPA? I don't see why they wouldn't. They just don't have an exact equivalent UW course. Who should I contact to get this changed? My adviser didn't seem to know what to do. I contacted Grant Kollet from the first year's program to see if he had any advice (at my orientation he said anyone could contact him if they had any problems).

I am a little frustrated and worried. Do you guys think it will be easy to get these courses (or at least one of them) counted as a VLPA for my gen ed requirements?
