If none of you guys are busy this Saturday and looking for something
cool to do before the quarter gets bogged down, I'm participating in the
Hunger Cleanup on Saturday. It's a project to raise funds and feed those
that aren't as fortunate to have food on the table.
It starts off with a rally in Red Sq. at 9:30 on Saturday and some food
for the volunteers (bagels and such). Volunteers then go off by groups
to different locations around Seattle and feed those in need. I'm going
to a church in the Capital Hill area and working until 3:00-3:30,
although most groups will be done by 2:30.
As this is also a fundraising event for various food banks and things,
every person is required to get a minimum of $20 for the cause, with a
goal of $50 per person. I'm going to be giving at least $30 out of my
pocket just because it's a good cause and I can afford it, but if any of
you can't/don't want to come out and feel compelled (hint hint) to help
out in someway, I'm more than willing to take your donation. :)
Just a small fun thing to do before the quarter gets going--this isn't
limited to students either. Let me know if you're interested and I'll put
you in contact with the right people.
