You know what I would love to see or find at UW? A commuter house. One similar to those Japanese hotels in that you could take a nap for two hours and take a shower and one similar to a workplace in that you could use a fridge and a kitchen. They could have lockers so you could store your workout gear and a couple of changes of clothes. Sometimes I would love to just see if someone will let me rent their guest room during the day only. I don't need to keep anything there, just crash every once in a while so I can avoid my days being from 6 am to 10 pm.
I do have a couple of serious questions about commuting, since that's kind of a pipe dream (if it's not, PLEASE contact me immediately):
- What's up with microwaves? Are there any located around campus that can be used to nuke lunch?
- Water. What's it like in taps and fountains around campus? Can I fill my Sigg bottle without worrying about crap-tasting water?
Basically I'm trying to save money on lunch and buying water/coffee, so I'm trying to figure out the best plan of action. Seasoned commuters, help me out!
