It is with great pleasure and excitement that we write to you, a little over one year since your graduation from the University of Washington, to tell you that the Senior Gift from the Class of 2006 has arrived on upper campus!
The Class of 2006 Husky Statue, which you all worked so tirelessly campaigning and raising money for throughout your senior year, is now complete, installed, and ready for its close-up with YOU!!!
The unveiling of the Husky Statue will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, September 24, 2007 during "Dawg Days" at the Husky Union Building on the University of Washington Campus. The statue is a gift to the University from your class, the Class of 2006, in commemoration of your graduation from the UW. Come down to celebrate Dawgs of the past, present and future with other members of the Class of 2006, the artist and the UW community, and be one of the first to have a picture of your family with the new pooch on the porch!
The Husky Statue is special not only because it stands as a testament to the philanthropic and community-centered values of your class, but also because it was designed and sculpted by a graduate of the UW Class of 2006. Brandis Svendsen's piece created for her alma mater certainly stands as a monumental symbol of Husky spirit and especially captures the "Dawg Pride" of the Class of 2006. The statue will serve as a campus community focal point and gathering space for generations of Huskies to come.
Hope to see you Monday, September 24th at 11:00 am! Go Huskies!
