The University Community After-hours Listening Line (U-CALL) has just opened up for year III of operation.
It is a confidential, anonymous, and nonjudgmental listening service offered by University of Washington students for their peers. You can call and get something off your chest, vent, find resources, or just be heard. You can call if something's keeping you up all night. No problem is too big or too small. (206) 543-CALL (that's 206 543-2255). Push 0 to be connected to a volunteer - it should take about 5 minutes to reach one.
We're open from 5:30 PM to 7:30 AM every weeknight, and 24 hours a day on weekends. All volunteers are trained by Hall Health's mental health clinic staff. And they're awesome people, too.
Also, if you'd like information about volunteer opportunities, flyers and posters for your workspace, or if you'd like to request that U-CALL volunteers give a workshop presentation on active listening skills to your FIG, workgroup, class, or residence hall, please email me at chanman@u.wash.
You call - we listen!
