U-CALL, the University Community After-hours Listening Line, is a student-run, completely confidential, and nonjudgmental listening service offered to UW students, faculty, and staff. The number is (206) 543-CALL (2255) - and the line operates from 5:30 PM to 7:30 AM every weekday night, and 24 hours a day on weekends. You can call if you're stressed out, need to vent, having relationship issues, or need help finding resources. Really, no issue is too big or too small - and don't hesitate to call if you feel like you need someone to talk to, for any reason. U-CALL is run by UW's Hall Health, and all the volunteers are UW students.
Interested in volunteering? We need caring students willing to be trained to answer calls anonymously on the line, and we need a lot of help spreading the word so that the folks who need the service can actually hear about it. To be eligible for either, you must be a currently enrolled student (or be one by the time you start volunteering) at the UW.
