Opportunity for UW Students Interested in Entertainment Journalism

I am the EIC for The Media Fix ( I am currently looking for individuals who want to gain experience with the field of journalism and entertainment.

I have about 4 positions open for writers and photographers.

Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no pay. But usually the experiences are invaluable as well as the excitement over receiving free cds/dvds/concert tickets/merchandise. We also hope to launch The Media Fix into print in the near future which would then pay our writers.

I'm looking for individuals between the ages 18-26 within or near major cities across the US including:

Orlando, Washington DC, Boston, St. Louis, Atlanta, Baltimore, Providence, Dallas, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Houston, Austin, New Orleans, NYC, Chicago, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Albuquerque, Tuscon, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Columbus, Cincinatti, Cleveland, Richmond, Norfolk, Portland

Tasks include writing articles on music, movies, video games, city life, advice, current events, etc. We also have positions for those interested in promotions and advertisement. The jobs are rather demanding since The Media Fix updates weekly but if you are dedicated and enjoy the arts, I promise you will love working for The Media Fix.

Benefits include free things such as concert tickets, dvds, vgames, cds, and the opportunity to speak with accomplished individuals in the industry.

You can check out the site at You can apply to become a part of the staff at (Note: it will not give you a confirmation page when you submit it but it does go through!)

Let me know if you're interested by contacting me ( or on myspace themediafix)

We're also looking for bands who would like to be featured so please submit an e-mail if you'd like some coverage. We are currently looking for bands willing to perhaps set up a contest on our site for their fans. Send any ideas to
