Ok so I've been wanting to mention this for days now (any W fans wont like this so beware) .. I was riding the bus to campus at the ass crack of dawn like usual and on the back of a Subaru stationwagon, I saw the world's awesomest bumper sticker. It read: "George Bush is a lying sack of shit". I thought, Yes, that's fuckin' awesome!

and theres my story.

What does that have to do with UW?

Shut up.

It's a perfectly valid question.

I suppose it's because she was going to campus or something?

Wish I knew the mod. :\

Was I questioning the validity of your question?

Dude. I know you have better things to do than whine about minutia.

Well not a whole lot in actuality. My bad for taking up space on your Friends page. sorry... But perhaps a UW student was driving the car?? (since i saw the car once driving into downtown, past the seneca st. exit) who knows.

It's fine for a political community, but personally I joined this community so that I could read about happenings at the UW and UW-related stuff. And I'm pretty sure that's the reasoning behind why most other people joined as well.

true. myself included. Will you let my one off topic post slip by then? I'll attempt to post such things in more fitting communities next time.

The poster was riding the bus to campus - I think that's good enough.

W's polarization of this country has led to some really creative bumper stickers; I actually read them, now.

Oh, I want that. Not because I want to beat up liberals- just because I find anything to do with clubbing seals hilarious.

I'm not a conservative (not exactly a liberal either, but if given two choices, I'd chose the latter) but that is awesome.

Wouldn't it be more effective reversed? We'd save more seals by clubbing a neo-conservative.

How about this: club the neoconservative with a liberal. Two birds, one stone. Then all that would be left is us moderates. Yessssss, sweet, sweet moderates.

Hm... but the thing is, they don't cancel out. You'd have to find a libertarian to club the neo-con with.

If I weren't constantly harassed by recruiters on campus, I wouldn't be bothered so much - but frankly, they piss me off, and therefore the reason they have to be there pisses me off.

What part of the liberal "code" says you have to hate recruiters? Damn it, I'm almost ashamed to be liberal with some of the shit that happens on this campus.

[info]elusive_fish

July 14 2005, 20:43:35 UTC 6 years ago

What "shit" are you talking about?

[info]naruvonwilkins

July 14 2005, 20:44:06 UTC 6 years ago

I thought that was pretty self-explanatory, sorry. :)

Almost every day, a recruiter will jog up beside me and ask me if I'm interested in joining up. I can understand that to a small extent, this is necessary - but I also recognize that there would not be a recruiting problem if those who did join were not used for morale-busting operations such as that in Iraq.

Anyway, who says I'm liberal? I'm fairly conservative, I just dislike the folks in power.
